Terms
These terms are an agreement between you and VLTA LTD (company number 16561041), 19 Wildern Court, Southampton SO30 4DT ("VLTA", "we", "us") for using Panic Buy, our football auction game, at panicbuy.vlta.co.uk, play.vlta.co.uk and related pages. By playing or buying you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the game.
Who can play
Anyone can play guest games. To have an account, play ranked, add mates or use the leaderboards you must be 18 or over. You're responsible for your account and password. If you forget your password you can reset it by email, so keep your email address up to date.
Play fair
- No cheating, bots, scripts, exploits, account sharing for rank, or deliberately losing to help someone else.
- No abusive, hateful, sexual or illegal usernames or behaviour. We may rename, mute, reset or remove accounts that break this, without notice.
- Don't attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service.
- Quitting a ranked game costs points. That's part of the game.
It's a game, not gambling
Money in Panic Buy (for example "£100M") is pretend and has no cash value. There are no cash prizes, no stakes and no random paid rewards. Nothing you buy changes who wins a ranked game: ranked always uses the same free settings and player pool.
Unofficial
Panic Buy is an unofficial fan game. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any league, federation, club, sponsor or player. Player names are used to describe real footballers; there are no photos, badges or club names. Ratings and stats are our own subjective numbers for fun and aren't statements of fact.

Buying things
Extras (like the Host Pass, player packs, Kev's Wardrobe and Celebrations) are one-off digital purchases made at vlta.co.uk. Prices are shown in pounds sterling. When you buy, you ask us to supply the digital content straight away, and you agree that this means you lose your 14-day right to cancel once it's unlocked or made available. This doesn't affect your legal rights if something is faulty: digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and if it isn't you can ask for a repair, replacement or refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Unlocks are tied to your receipt code and work on up to a limited number of devices. Host items unlock for the games you host. Player items (like Kev looks) unlock on the device or account that redeems them. If you lose a code, email info@vlta.co.uk from the address you ordered with. "Buy the Round" tips are thank-yous: they unlock nothing and aren't refundable except where the law says so.
We may add, change or retire features and extras. If we remove something you've paid for, we'll offer a fair refund.
Your content
Usernames and chat messages you send must be yours to use and follow the rules above. You give us permission to display them in the game and on leaderboards. Chat is limited to preset phrases and reactions.
Availability
We try to keep Panic Buy running but it's provided "as is". Games can be interrupted by connection problems, updates or outages. Ratings, ranks and seasons may be reset or adjusted if needed (for example after a bug or abuse), and ranks drop one step at the start of each month by design.
Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. Otherwise, we aren't responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses, and our total liability to you for anything connected with the game is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem arose.
Ending things
You can stop playing and delete your account any time from your profile. We can suspend or end accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms and will change the date above. Using the game after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts there have jurisdiction, though if you're a consumer in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also use your local courts.
